What’s up with the name?

Why “The Trine”? Whelp, there are a few reasons why I named my healing practice something pretty weird.

▽ In astrology, the Trine is a 120-degree aspect between two planets, which is one of the most harmonious aspects of them all. This aspect brings luck and synchronicity. It also happens to be the aspect that occurs most often in my natal chart.

▽ I’m Jewish and deeply connected to my ancestry and the Jewish mysticism lineage. In Nazi Germany, “asocials” (including nonconformists) were forced to wear upside-down black triangles. I wear this symbol on my arm in tattoo form as a way to take back the symbol as a source of pride.

▽ The upside-down triangle is also the glyph for water and I’m a water sign. (Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon- yeah, it’s a hot mess.)

▽ Lastly, and most importantly: The Trine is a reference to the three modalities I offer in my practice: Reiki/energy healing, Aura Photography, and Cosmic Collage.

What is Reiki?

▽ Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive, hands-on energy practice that supports healing and personal development. Developed in Japan in the early 1900s.

▽ Reiki effectively relieves stress, decreases pain, and accelerates healing on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels.

▽ Reiki is not a substitute for other forms of medical care, but Reiki does complement any form of medical care.

▽ Reiki is not a religion nor is it affiliated with any religion. I welcome all faiths (or lack thereof) to my practice.

What happens during a Reiki treatment?

▽ If we are meeting virtually, we will meet via video chat and I will have you lie down in a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed during the entirety of our session. I will send the Reiki energy directly to you. Virtual Reiki is just as effective as in-person Reiki.

▽ If we are meeting in-person, I’ll have you lie fully clothed on my massage table and will provide light touch on specific points of your body while sending Reiki energy. If you are uncomfortable with touch, I can send you Reiki energy with my hands hovering just above your body.

What does Reiki feel like?

▽ Reiki feels different for everyone. Some people describe Reiki as relaxing warmth or heat. Other people have reported sensations such as tingling, floating, pulsing, buzzing, waves of energy, emotional release (crying is totally cool), etc. How Reiki feels in your body is unique to you and may be different each session. There are no wrong answers here.

▽ Everything is energy, including money, and our time together is an energetic exchange. During our session I am holding space for you on an emotional, physical, and spiritual level. I value my time, energy, and gifts as such and have priced my appointments accordingly. I do, however, believe in equity and, as such, if you identify as BIPOC or if you have extenuating financial circumstances, feel free to email me at carly@the-trine.com and I will do my best to provide an option that feels fair for both of us.

▽ As this work is an intimate energy exchange, I have the right to refuse service to anyone who disrespects my energetic space or is not an energetic fit for my practice. Thank you for respecting my boundaries.
